Sorbitol Dehydrogenase (SDH)

Sorbitol dehydrogenase (SDH), also known as Iditol dehydrogenase, is a liver enzyme that has historically been the enzyme of choice when assaying to detect liver damage or acute hepatic anoxia.

• The SDH assay is a two-reagent system in which fructose in the presence of NADH is enzymatically converted by SDH to sorbitol with the oxidation of NADH to NAD.
• The rate of decrease in Optical Density (OD) of the NADH at 340 nm is directly proportional to the enzymatic activity of the SDH enzyme.
• Improved packaging designed to increase its shelf life over previous versions.
• Applications are available for most common automated chemistry systems.
