• 1 in 4 people die from complications related to thrombosis, making it a leading cause of death and disability globally
• 3 of the top cardiovascular killers are linked to blood clots
• 60% of VTE happen during or following hospitalisation
• No. 1 cause of preventable death in hospitals is VTE, although it often goes unrecognised or undetected
